Vascular Treatments

Depending on how deep and long the capillaries are, you may need to undergo laser treatments that will stop the capillary from leaking blood and shrink the blood vessels. The laser seals the broken vessels and prevents blood flow to the surface. The laser treatment of these red lines disappears after about two to four treatments. Many smaller broken capillaries will disappear during the first treatment. Rock Creek Laser performs these treatments in 15 minutes sessions. For larger veins, consult with us about more aggresive vascular treatment.

Red Veins On Face?

Broken or dilated capillaries are caused by stress, cold weather, smoking, or drinking and are commonly located around the nose and around the cheeks. These are also called spider veins. Spider veins are very thin veins that lie close to the surface of the skin. Broken capillaries can be faint red lines and sometime develop in a circle like a spider web. When capillary walls narrow and widen too quickly, it causes the muscles in the walls to tear which enables the blood to seep out resulting in broken capillaries. Dry or sensitive skin often provides less protection are the most commonly affected.

Here are some other causes of broken capillaries; if possible avoid these to help prevent them:

  • Sunburn (not wearing sunscreen)
  • Wind burn from wind blowing on the face (riding motorcycle or driving cars without a roof)
  • Pressure from glasses pressing on the nose (if possible try making adjustments to your glasses)
  • Relocating from one extreme temperature to another

Leg Veins

Small, red spider veins on the face to large blue-green leg veins can be effectively diminished with state-of-the-art elōs treatments. The unique elōs combination of light and bi-polar radio frequency (RF) energies provides controlled selective thermolysis to vascular lesions. The bi-polar radio frequency of elōs technology flows between the two electrodes of the application head, delivering maximum targeted energy to the treatment area. This combined action reduces problem vascular lesions.
